United Utilities will bring in the restrictions – the first in the north west for 14 years – on the majority of its seven million customers on Friday. Neighbours will be relied upon to shop people breaking the ban and those caught can be fined up to £1,000. But the MEN can reveal that nobody has been convicted of breaking the ban in the north west since the water industry was privatised in the 1989. The last ban began in the hot summer of 1995 and lasted 14 months. Businesses including car washes and garden centres are unaffected. Bosses at the water company are also applying for drought permits to release less water into rivers from Rivington reservoir, near Bolton, and at Longdendale in Derbyshire. It comes a week after the M.E.N. told how the region would need two months of rain in a few days to avoid it.
Whitwoth Park is certainly a place where my friends and I always spent sometimes playing football, rugby and frisbee. It is located just before “curry miles” if you are coming from city centre. My first time being at this park was not actually very interesting because I arrived at Manchester from Malaysia during winter time. So, the wet condition plus muddy condition in some places made my experience being at this place was not so special. The park itself has lots of mature tree lined walks, lawns and open fields which me and friends usually play football there.
A member of MCOT recently was selected by management company in United Kingdom, CityCo to join their first Open City exhibition which will be held at The Triangle shopping centre from July 9th 2010 until July 29th 2010.
A photograph taken by Dzul Najmi Sirozi who is currently studying physics in 2nd year degree was chosen by the management company, CItyco from more than 115 people who sent their applications to be exhibit during the exhibition.
